A Professor of Ophthalmology, Adebukola Oshintelu, says regular intake of African native nut, bitter kola, helps to treat and manage glaucoma disease. Oshintelu, who works with Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), Idi-Araba, said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), on Friday in Lagos. The National Chairman of Action Alliance, Kenneth Udeze, has been reportedly abducted by Unknown men believed to be security operatives in Abuja. Udeze was forced into a Toyota Forerunner SUV on Friday morning and driven away to an unknown location, his wife, Genevieve informed The PUNCH over the telephone. The US government says effective October 29, children of citizens born outside the country will no longer automatically become citizens of the country. The directive is contained in  a new policy issued on Wednesday by the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). US citizenship can be acquired by being born in the country or children born abroad can acquire citizenship through their US citizen parents either at birth or before the age of 18. American singer, Robert Sylvester Kelly, a.k.a R-Kelly, pleaded to the Bureau of Prisons to let him out of solitary confinement while waiting for trial. It was reported that the music star’s lawyers filed an emergency motion on Thursday, soliciting R-Kelly released from solitary confinement while awaiting trial on child pornography charges. The governors of Niger Delta states have rejected the board nominees of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari. The nine states under the Niger Delta include Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Bayelsa, Rivers, Delta, Edo, Abia, Imo, and Ondo. Gov. Aminu Masari of Katsina State has directed  Secretary to the State Government (SSG) Mr Mustapha Inuwa, to arrange a meeting for him and security chiefs with suspected bandits at their hideouts for dialogue, to ensure peace returned in the state. President Muhammadu Buhari Friday held investment talks with top officials of Japan Bank for International Cooperation, and Toyota Group, at the margins of the Seventh Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD 7), holding in Yokohama, Japan. Led by its Deputy Governor, Mr Nobumitsu Hayashi, the Japan Bank for International Cooperation indicated its interest in supporting projects in which Japanese companies are involved in Nigeria. Following the judgment by a United Kingdom court granting the firm seizure of $9.6bn in Nigerian assets, the Federal Government has said it is ready to negotiate with the Process and Industrial Developments Ltd to resolve the issue. The judgment was based on a contract between the Federal Government and the P&ID signed in 2010.
