The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has presented register of voters to 23 political parties ahead of the Nov. 16, Kogi governorship poll. Alhaji Mohammed Haruna, the INEC National Commissioner in charge of Kogi, Kwara and Nasarawa States,  presented the register to the parties at a brief ceremony in Lokoja on Monday. Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta will on Wednesday launch phase 2A of Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) linking the capital Nairobi to the resort town of Naivasha, a regional administrator said on Monday. The Police Command in Katsina State has ordered the immediate closure of Malam Bello-mai’almajirai local reformatory centre in Daura, Katsina State. The Commissioner of Police, Mr Sanusi Buba, who inspected the centre in company of journalists and other relevant stakeholders, ordered the closure in Daura on Monday. He said that inmates were subjected to deplorable and dehumanising conditions at the centre. Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibadan zonal office, on Monday, October 14, 2019, raided an Osogbo-based nightclub notorious for hosting parties for suspected internet fraudsters. The raid led to the arrest of 94 suspects and confiscation of 19 exotic cars, laptops, scores of sophisticated mobile phones and other items. The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), on Sunday, confirmed the killing of a woman in an accident on Toll Gate, Sango-Ota in Ogun. Mr Akeem Ganiyu, the Sango-Ota Unit Commander of FRSC, told NAN in Ota that the accident happened at about 12.45 am. on Sunday. A former deputy governor in Bayelsa state, Ebebi Peremobowei, has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of the November 16 governorship election. A motor cyclist who stole his in – law’s police crested vest and fez – cap in order to hijack a motor – cycle along with two other suspects have been arrested in Ikorodu, Lagos by the operatives of Rapid Response Squad of the Lagos State Police Command.
