Victor Osimhen rejoined partial Galatasaray team training ahead of Friday’s Turkey Süper Lig Week 7 home meeting with Kasımpaşa.
In a Wednesday post on Galatasaray’s X account, the Nigeria international, who has been out with a groin injury, took part in part of the session alongside his teammates at the Kemerburgaz Metin Oktay Facilities under head coach Okan Buruk.
Osimhen joined the early portion of the workout before switching to an individualized program drawn up by the club’s medical staff as he built his way back to full fitness.
The session opened with a dynamic warm-up before the players split into three groups for 8v2 passing drills.
The squad then moved on to possession exercises before wrapping up with a small-sided game.
Midfielder Mario Lemina and goalkeeper Günay Güvenç were with the team for the whole session.
Defenders Wilfried Singo and Roland Sallai, in the meantime, carried on their rehabilitation programs away from the main group as they recovered from their respective injuries.
Osimhen’s step-by-step comeback is a positive sign for Galatasaray, though the club is likely to stay careful with the striker as he works on regaining match fitness.
The 27-year-old is being evaluated with an eye on a potential return against Kasımpaşa at Rams Park on October 9. Four days later, Galatasaray will take on another big challenge when they welcome Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League.
The Turkish champions will keep preparing for the Kasımpaşa match, with another training session set for Wednesday at 17:00.
