At least 75 persons have been asked to go into self-isolation after coming in contact with Kwara State’s suspected index coronavirus case. They include 28 staff members of the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH), who attended to the suspected case before his death last Thursday. The Federal Government of Nigeria has hinted at the possibility of extending the lockdown on Abuja, Lagos and Ogun state, 10 days after it ordered a 14-day restriction. The Chief Magistrate Court in Port Harcourt, Rivers state, has remanded two pilots of Carveton Helicopters, Samuel Ugorji and Samuel Buhari for disobeying the Executive Order issued by the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, on coronavirus preventive measures. The court presided over by Chief Magistrate D.D. Ihua-Maduenyi remanded the two pilots at the Port Harcourt Correctional Centre till May 19, 2020 when their trial would commence. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 16 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) on Tuesday taking the total to 254. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC Gombe Zonal Office, on April 6, 2020, secured the conviction of one Prince Musa, who impersonated Senator Bulus Amos, representing Gombe South Senatorial District and used his name to defraud several prominent persons by soliciting for various sums of money.
