    DStv brings spiritual upliftment this Easter with pop up channel

    DStv customers can prepare for an Easter Weekend like no other this April, with the launch of a new pop up channel with tons of religious programs that will surely get you off your feet and dancing to some gospel tunes.

    The current restrictions due to the global pandemic, COVID-19, will see Nigerians staying at home during the Easter Weekend.

    It is with this in mind that DStv launches a new pop up channel Africa’s Easter Pop Up on the Thursday, 9th April 2020. The channel will broadcast until Easter Monday, 13 April, with the aim of catering to various Christian groups with rich content for a diverse group of viewers to enjoy.

    Africa Easter Channel will offer music and sermons that will keep DStv viewers engaged and spiritually fulfilled during the four days of the channel going live. DStv Channel 344 will soon be the home of gospel music, moving sermons that will inspire customers across the country.

    DStv customers in Nigeria will be treated to the soul-lifting and encouraging sermon from the pulpit of House on the Rock by Pastor Paul Adefarasin. Anglican viewers will get a chance to come together for a unique and special Easter service led by Archbishop Dr. Thabo Makgoba.

    While Methodists will be led by Rev Michel Hansrod, General Secretary, Methodist Church of Southern Africa, and presiding Bishop Purity Malinga. Catholic brethren can join Father Lawrence Ndlovu for a special Easter Service during the upcoming Easter weekend.

    “DStv is thrilled to provide our customers with Africa’s Easter Pop Up channel. This channel will afford Christian worshippers across the continent an opportunity to observe Easter from the comfort of their homes,” says Martin Mabutho, Chief Customer Office MultiChoice Nigeria.

    • DStv, GOtv bring easy access to trustworthy news

    Tune-in and catch popular gospel artists such as Tim Godfrey, Lebo Sekgobela, Dr Tumi, Hillsong, William McDowell, Michael Mahender, Joe Mettle to mention a few who will feature prominently on the channel. In addition to this, recorded messages submitted by the churches will broadcast on the channel.

    Tune into the African Easter channel 344 on DStv for 4 days during the Easter Weekend, from Friday 9 April to Monday 13 April.

    Artists across the continent to enjoy: Michael Mahendere (Zimbabwe), Joe Mettle (Ghana),
    Tim Godfrey (Nigeria), Sam Oye (Nigeria – pastor) and Paul Adefarasin (Nigeria – pastor).

    Southern African artists to look forward to are Joyous Celebration, Khaya Mthethwa, Lebo Sekgobela, Benjamin Dube, Ntokozo Mbambo, Soweto Gospel Choir, Rebecca Malope, Solly Mahlangu and Dr Tumi.

    International artists to enjoy: William McDowell, Hillsong Worship and Don Moen.
