Wrexham AFC have reportedly made a bold move to sign former Manchester United and Denmark international Christian Eriksen, according to a new report by the Daily Mail.

The Championship newcomers, backed by Hollywood owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, are looking to bolster their midfield ahead of the 2025/26 season.

Despite already securing the signings of two midfielders this summer—including Lewis O’Brien—manager Phil Parkinson believes the squad still needs more reinforcements to survive the rigours of England’s second-tier league.

Now, Wrexham have turned their attention to Eriksen, 33, who recently parted ways with Manchester United. His agent, Martin Schoots, confirmed that discussions are ongoing and acknowledged the attractiveness of the Wrexham project.

“Wrexham are really upgrading everything both on and off the field, and it is a hugely impressive project, as you can see from the presence of people like Michael Williamson there,” Schoots told Mail Sport.

“But Christian still wants to play in a first-tier competition and he absolutely wants to stay in Western Europe. There are some contacts going on but it has to suit both sides.”

At his peak, Eriksen was considered one of the top midfielders in world football, and his addition would be a significant coup for the ambitious Welsh club. Beyond his quality on the pitch, his global recognition would attract even more attention to Wrexham’s ongoing rise through the English football pyramid.

However, Wrexham are not alone in the race. Clubs from Saudi Arabia, the United States, Turkey, and Brazil have also expressed interest in the Danish playmaker, who now finds himself with multiple options as the summer transfer window heats up.
