Portuguese international Cristiano Ronaldo has been honoured with a special award to recognise his remarkable legacy as the all-time leading goal scorer in the Champions League.
Also, former Italy and Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon has received the 2024 UEFA President’s Award.
The former teammates were honoured at the UEFA Champions League phase draw that took place in Monaco on Thursday evening.
Cristiano Ronaldo, a name synonymous with excellence in European football, received a prestigious honour from UEFA, solidifying his status as the UEFA Champions League’s all-time top scorer.
The special award was presented by Aleksander Čeferin, UEFA President.
This took place during the 2024/25 UCL draw ceremony on Thursday, 29 August.
Ronaldo’s unrivalled achievements in the UEFA Champions League, including his 140 goals across 183 appearances, have redefined the history of the competition.
