Entebbe UPPC open with two wins after sixth-place finish

Entebbe UPPC have carried last season’s strong return to the top flight into the opening weeks of 2026/27. After finishing sixth in May, they began the new campaign by beating defending champions Vipers 1–0 away from home, then recovered from a goal down to defeat UPDF 2–1 four days later. At Vipers, Entebbe scored first and defended the margin. Against UPDF, they had to respond after conceding. That contrast says more about the opening week than simply listing six points from six.

It also gives Ochungo an unusual place in both results. His cross created the own goal at Vipers, then his header brought Entebbe back into the UPDF match.
