Kylian Mbappe has dismissed any chance of emulating Cristiano Ronaldo by extending his playing days until he is 41.
According to Fabrizio Romano’s post on X on Thursday, Mbappé was questioned about the idea of competing at the top level for as long as Ronaldo has.
The France captain answered with a grin: “France would never let me play until I’m 41!”
Even so, Mbappe wasted no time in commending Ronaldo for keeping himself in top physical and mental shape across his lengthy career.
“Cristiano shows that if you’re in good physical and mental shape, you can play at this high level for a long time,” Mbappé said.
Even though Mbappé respects how long Ronaldo has stayed at the top, he confessed that he can’t picture himself following the same path.
“In my case, I don’t see it happening,” he told BILD.
