Nigerian street-pop artist Habeeb Okikiola, also known as Portable, has stated that he wants to meet fellow musician Terry G in a celebrity boxing match following his scheduled clash with actor Charles Okocha.
Portable made the statements during an interview for Rubbin’ Minds, which aired on Channels Television on Sunday.
The musician denied that he was interested in fighting social media sensation VeryDarkMan, stating that Terry G was his favorite opponent.
When asked if he wanted to face VeryDarkMan, Portable simply said, “Terry G.”
“I want to fight Terry G.”
He added, “If Terry G fights me one-on-one in boxing, I swear to God he will rise again. People will remind him again.”
The singer noted that he believed a bout with Terry G would revive the musician’s public profile.
Speaking on whether he intended to help Terry G’s career through the fight, Portable replied, “Yeah! I just train. I want to blow him.”
Portable also revealed plans for an international music tour after his upcoming boxing match with Charles Okocha.
“After I fight and I beat Charles Okocha, I’m going to London. If I come back from London, I want to fight Terry G,” he said before listing the United States, Russia, Malaysia, Dubai, and South Africa among the destinations on his 2026 tour.
Portable said that his fighting career contributed to the popularity of celebrity boxing in Nigeria.
“I want to face my career. I try for Nigeria. I use my own music career; I use and build boxing, Nigerian boxing. I use am rise am.
“Which boxer fits and comes out and says he collected money and passed it to me for this Nigeria? You collected ₦100 million. How many belts do you have? How many rounds did you fight? How much did you collect?” he said.
The musician said he received ₦50 million prior to his match with Charles Okocha, with a total fight purse of ₦150 million.
“I don’t collect ₦50 million. We are fighting for ₦150 million,” he said.
Portable expressed confidence in overcoming Okocha, stating, “Don’t worry, not if I win. “I’m winning this match.”
He stated the fight is scheduled for July 31, 2026, and that spectators should anticipate him winning it.
“I’m the face of boxing in Nigeria 2026,” he declared.
The singer also mentioned his support for President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress.
“I’m supporting Tinubu!” Portable said.
The rematch was triggered when Okocha invoked the rematch clause following Portable’s unanimous decision victory in their first bout.
Both boxers have swapped rhetorical threats ahead of the match, with Okocha training alongside WBO Intercontinental heavyweight champion Moses Itauma and Portable continuing his preparations with WBA Africa lightweight champion Taiwo “Esehpo” Agbaje.
Apart from Okocha, Portable had faced and defeated singer Speed Darlington.
He also defeated Kizz Daniel’s bodyguard, Kelvin Atobiloye, better known as Kelvin Power, in a nationally publicized exhibition match, though the celebrity bodyguard denied the defeat, claiming it was a paid advertisement.
At the Chaos in the Ring event in May 2026, the Zazuu crooner lost his first match to content producer Carter Efe by unanimous decision.
