TikTok personality Habeeb Hamzat, popularly known as Peller, has been arraigned before a magistrate’s court in Lagos on three counts of resisting police officers and breaching the public peace.
Peller, alongside Bello Oladipo, was arraigned before the court on Monday following an incident that occurred on July 2, 2026, along Coastal Road in Lekki, Lagos.
The charges, as read in court, include conspiracy to commit a felony, obstruction of police officers in the discharge of their duties, and conduct likely to cause a breach of the public peace.
The case stems from a viral video that surfaced last week showing Peller in an altercation with police officers.
In the clip, the social media influencer alleged that the officers harassed him, claiming he was cautioned for driving a vehicle without a number plate.
Peller insisted that he had just purchased the vehicle. However, the officers at the scene maintained that he should be taken into custody. The TikToker further alleged that one of the officers pulled his shirt and pointed a gun at his head.
According to the charge sheet, the defendants are accused of obstructing four police officers while they were carrying out their lawful duties. They are also accused of threatening and recording the officers while the officers performed their duties.
The court also charged the defendants with unlawfully conducting themselves in a manner likely to cause a breach of the public peace.
