Former Vice President Prof. Yemi Osinbajo has shared details of his engagements with prominent global and Nigerian leaders on the sidelines of the Hamburg Sustainability Conference.
In a post on Instagram, Osinbajo said he was pleased to reconnect with Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, whom he described as his “dear sister”. He disclosed that she accepted a last-minute invitation to share her perspectives on emerging issues in global trade during the Future of Development Cooperation Coalition (FDCC) retreat in London.
Osinbajo also said he met with Mo Ibrahim, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, Faruk Yabo, and Maryam Hassan Bukar during the conference.
He praised Maryam Hassan Bukar, also known as Alhanislam, for her performance at the closing ceremony of the Hamburg Sustainability Conference, noting that she received a standing ovation for her poetry.
“It was good to catch up with my dear sister Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, who also very kindly accepted to share insights on emerging issues in global trade with us at the FDCC retreat in London at short notice; and also with my brother Mo Ibrahim; the honourable Minister of Budget and Economic Planning Abubakar Atiku Bagudu; Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Solid Minerals Development Faruk Yabo; and with Maryam Hassan Bukar (Alhanislam) UN Global Peace Advocate, who received a standing ovation for her amazing poetic performance at the Hamburg Sustainability Conference closing ceremony,” Osinbajo wrote.
