Former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo attended the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Executive Council (NEC) meeting as he continues to showcase the legacy of the Buhari administration.

Osinbajo, who is one of the founding fathers of the APC, served as deputy to late President Muhammadu Buhari for eight years. He left behind a record of a loyal and dependable deputy to Buhari.

The professor of law and former Attorney General of Lagos State had joined President Bola Tinubu and other top Nigerians to receive the body of President Buhari when it arrived in Nigeria last week.

Osinbajo is now carrying the legacy of Buhari to the APC NEC meeting, the first since the passing of the former president. The Buhari administration was lauded for its highly successful Social Investment Programme, which won national and international acclaim. The administration also recorded infrastructural few, economic, and security efforts that helped elevate Nigeria globally.

Speaking during the short session to honour former President Muhammadu Buhari at the APC NEC, former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo SAN said “in his many years in public service, he-Buhari-proved that you can serve with honesty, transparency & integrity.”

“As a convicted and converted democrat he showed a commitment to the rule of law. He ran for office thrice and lost and pursued his rights in the courts, losing all three times. It was only at the fourth time that he won. He demonstrated belief in the Constitution and the rule of law.”

Also in attendance at the APC NEC meeting was incumbent president, Bola Tinubu, his deputy Kashim Shettima, and other APC leaders across the country.

Tinubu, who succeeded Buhari, is expected to seek a second term in office at the expiration of his four-year term in 2027.

The APC elected Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda as the new national chairman of the party.
