Former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has paid a condolence visit to the vice-presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Rotimi Amaechi, following the death of his mother, Dame Ezinne Mary Oduah Amaechi.
Osinbajo visited the former minister of transportation and his family at their Abuja residence to sympathise with them over the loss of the family matriarch.
His visit comes as political leaders from across the country continue to troop to Amaechi’s home to offer their condolences.
Osinbajo and Amaechi both served in the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari, where Osinbajo was vice president while Amaechi held the transportation portfolio.
The former vice president joins a growing list of prominent Nigerians who have visited Amaechi since the death of his mother was announced.
Last week, ADC presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, who is running alongside Amaechi in the 2027 presidential election, also visited the former Rivers State governor in Abuja. Atiku was accompanied by members of his team as he sympathised with his running mate over the bereavement.
Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, Peter Obi also paid a condolence visit to Amaechi.
Similarly, ADC National Chairman David Mark and other party leaders visited the former minister to express their sympathies.
