Galatasaray may have left out Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen, from opening fixture of the 2025/26 Trendyol Süper Lig season against Gaziantep FK.

The team announced their official squad late on Thursday and notably, the Nigerian striker was not included in the matchday squad.

Osimhen, who joined Galatasaray on loan from Napoli in 2024 and was later signed permanently for €75 million, enjoyed a record-breaking debut season.

He scored 37 goals and provided eight assists in 41 appearances across all competitions, finishing as the Süper Lig’s top scorer and helping Galatasaray secure both the league title and the Turkish Cup.

His performances earned him widespread acclaim and made him the most expensive Nigerian footballer in history. Despite interest from clubs across Europe and the Middle East, the Super Eagles striker committed his future to Galatasaray, signaling the club’s ambition for continued success.

In addition to Osimhen, Mauro Icardi, Álvaro Morata, Victor Nelsson, and Carlos Cuesta were also excluded from the 35-man list submitted to the Turkish Football Federation (TFF).

No official reason has been provided for their absence.
