Bayern Munich attacker Michael Olise has allegedly told his France teammates of his desire to depart from the Bundesliga champions and sign with Real Madrid for the next season.
On Thursday, French newspaper L’Équipe reported that the 24-year-old expressed his wish during the FIFA World Cup, with Real Madrid already informed of his interest and likely to initiate discussions after the tournament despite Bayern’s hesitation to sell.
Olise, contracted to Bayern until 2029, reportedly aims to advance his career by transferring to Santiago Bernabéu.
The report mentioned that France and Bayern player Dayot Upamecano has attempted to convince Olise to stay in Munich.
Bayern president Herbert Hainer, however, has recently disregarded rumors connecting the winger to a transfer to the Spanish giants.
“Florentino Pérez can save himself the trouble of making an offer for Olise; we do not want to sell,” Hainer said.
Olise joined the Garman champions from Crystal Palace and has quickly established himself as one of the club’s key attacking players.
The report additionally suggested that Olise’s joining Real Madrid might compel one of the club’s present stars to depart, with Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Junior allegedly being among those whose prospects might be evaluated.
L’Équipe indicated that Bellingham’s alleged tense relationship with Kylian Mbappé and Vinicius’ pending contract negotiations have sparked rumors about potential exits, although neither assertion has been verified by the respective clubs.
Real Madrid has not made any public statements regarding the rumored interest in Olise.
