An unnamed Nigerian woman, who headed to Ethiopia, was nabbed with a carry-on bag with 4.7 kilos of the drug concealed inside 159 packages of chocolates and three pairs shoes.

The authorities did not give her name or where she was ferrying the cocaine from.

Two other women were held at a Brazilian airport this weekend as they attempted to board separate Africa-bound flights with almost 14 kilos of cocaine smuggled in their luggage, authorities said.

Agents with Brazil’s Federal Revenue Ministry were alerted by a K-9 unit at Sao Paulo–Guarulhos International Airport, in Cumbica, Sao Paulo on Saturday night.

The Nigerian national was apprehended while trying to smuggle 10 kilos of cocaine, authorities said.

A Brazilian woman, who was expecting to take a flight to Lagos, Nigeria, was caught with a suitcase containing 16 pair of New Balance sneakers with 3.4 kilos of cocaine placed underneath the insoles.

The unit of drug sniffing dogs also foiled another female drug trafficking suspect’s attempt at boarding a flight to Africa on Sunday night.

The white powder was carefully spread inside four framed paintings.

The women, whose names were not released by the Federal Revenue Ministry, were transferred to the custody of the Federal Police at airport.

The drug bust comes just a week after four people were arrested for attempting to smuggle cocaine to Africa, according to Brazilian news outlet G1.

A Thai woman was apprehended when she was found carrying two suitcases loaded with 160 bracelets that hid almost six kilos of cocaine. Her final destination was the Republic of Guinea.

Agents also caught Kenyan woman, whose finale destination was Burundi, with almost two kilos of cocaine hidden inside three jackets.
