Guinea-Bissau beat Nigeria 3-0 on Tuesday in their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying Group L encounter at the 24 de Setembro National Stadium in Bissau.
Franculino Djú put the hosts ahead in the 15th minute, striking a left-footed shot past Nigeria goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali after Renato Nhaga played him into the box.
Nigeria nearly equalized before the break, as Alex Iwobi set up Ademola Lookman, but Guinea-Bissau goalkeeper Embadjé came up with a fine save.
The hosts kept threatening after the interval and doubled their lead through Mama Baldé in the 65th minute.
Baldé collected the ball from Mamadi Camará on the left before driving a low shot into the net.
Nigeria made substitutions in an effort to cut the deficit, with George Ilenikhena and Raphael Onyedika coming on for Akor Adams and Wilfred Ndidi in the 75th minute.
Yet the Super Eagles were unable to find a way back into the match.
Ilenikhena nearly pulled one back in the 85th minute, but Embadjé made another save to deny the Nigerian forward.
Guinea-Bissau wrapped up the win in stoppage time when Álvaro Djaló netted the third goal, latching onto a through ball from Tamble Monteiro and finishing with his right foot.
The loss leaves Nigeria with work to do in their qualifying campaign, after they had beaten Madagascar 2-1 in their previous Group L match.
