President Bola Tinubu has stated that his administration has received global support and applause for its fuel subsidy and foreign exchange regime policies. He stated that these policies are now yielding positive results for the country.

Tinubu made the remarks over the weekend at a gala/award night hosted by the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HoCSF) to recognize and honor outstanding government servants in honor of this year’s Civil Service Week.

Tinubu who was represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, expressed gratitude to the civil officials for their contributions to the country’s economic development.

Tinubu who admitted that the policies had inflicted hardship on the masses in one way or another, said his administration was working on steps to mitigate the effects.

“We shall, without delay, cushion the pains being experienced by our people as a result of these measures through a number of well-targeted interventions aimed at giving adequate relief and succor to a great number of our long-suffering citizens,” Tinubu stated.

The President promised to provide more support to the civil service sector, which he described as the guardian of public confidence, in order to consolidate the benefits of the sector’s ongoing reforms.

Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan, the HoCSF, stated that every human being has an innate desire to be praised or acknowledged for their achievements.

She stated that hardworking civil servants deserved to be recognized for their contributions to the country.

According to the HoCSF, when people feel appreciated and recognized for their efforts, they are more likely to be committed and enthusiastic about their jobs.

She gave the top three excellent civil servants many rewards, including a brand new 2022 JAC JS4 luxury model SUV, a two-bedroom semi-detached cottage, and a plot of land.

The gesture, made in partnership with the Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation, was also extended to 29 other exceptional civil officials, who received various rewards, including N500,000 apiece.

“The star prize of a brand new 2022 JAC JS4 luxury model SUV was won by Mrs. Juwon Olayiwola of the Federal Ministry of Education; a two-bedroom semi-detached bungalow was won by Mr. Nwachukwu of the Service Welfare Office, office of the HoCSF; and the third prize of a plot of land was allocated to Mrs. Chukweke Stella Oluchi of the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF).”

The HoCSF advised heads of ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) to recognize and promote excellent employees, noting that recognition and rewards could serve to inspire staff to go the extra mile to innovate and achieve excellence in the course of their duties.

“In this ever-evolving corporate world, fostering a positive and motivating work environment has become crucial for the success of any institution,” Dr. Yemi-Esan said.

Furthermore, Dr. Tukur Ingawa, Chairman of the Federal Civil Service Commission, who was represented by a commissioner in the commission, Dr. Simon Etim, stated that paying a worker is a crucial innovation aspect for motivation in executing the necessary responsibilities in any organization.
