John Arum Azi, the abducted University of Jos (UNIJOS) student, has been released from the den of his kidnappers and united with his family.
Arum’s release from captivity on Wednesday was disclosed by his family in a video shared on social media.
The UNIJOS student was abducted by terrorists on his way to Zaria, Kaduna State, from Jos, Plateau State.
His abductors, in a video clip that attracted national condemnation, brutalized the victim and threatened to kill him if a ransom of N30 million was not paid.
However, after negotiations with the family, the ransom was reduced to N6 million.
However, after the ransom was paid following contributions from well-meaning Nigerians, the bandits demanded another N4 million.
However, Arum was released on Wednesday after spending 10 days in captivity and has since reunited with his family.
