Inter Milan booked their place in the UEFA Champions League semi-finals after an electrifying 2-2 draw against Bayern Munich at San Siro, securing a 4-3 aggregate victory in the quarter-finals.

With a 2-1 lead from the first leg in Munich, the Nerazzurri knew history was on their side—having never lost a European knockout tie after winning the first leg away. But an injury-hit Bayern, under Vincent Kompany, showed fight from the first whistle, led by the ever-dangerous Thomas Müller and Michael Olise.

Inter had their moments too, with Federico Dimarco and Hakan Çalhanoğlu both going close. A key intervention by Alessandro Bastoni denied Olise a clear chance, while Yann Sommer made crucial stops to preserve Inter’s impressive first-half defensive record in this season’s competition.

The deadlock broke early in the second half when Harry Kane fired a precise strike into the far corner, giving Bayern hope. But Inter responded almost immediately.

Lautaro Martínez, ever the big-game player, slammed in a rebound from a corner—his fifth straight Champions League game with a goal, a club record.

    • Frattesi’s late strike hands Inter Milan vital first-leg win over Bayern

San Siro erupted minutes later as Benjamin Pavard, facing his former club, rose high to head home a second for Inter.

Eric Dier gave Bayern late hope with a clever looping header, but despite late pressure in stoppage time, Inter held firm.

The result extends Inter’s unbeaten home run in the Champions League to 15 matches, the longest active streak in the tournament, and keeps alive their dream of a historic treble.

Next up: a semi-final showdown with Barcelona, as Inter look to reach the final for the second time in three seasons.

For Bayern and Kane, another European campaign ends in disappointment, though the Bundesliga title remains within reach.
