    Cleric commits suicide after sex scandal leaks

    Oscar Mukahanana, a Christian cleric of the United Methodist Church, allegedly committed suicide after his adultery scandal was leaked on the church’s WhatsApp group.

    The priest, a Reverend at Zimbabwe’s Harare East District Superintendent, had an extramarital affair with a female youth in the church.

    According to reports, the recording of his covert sexual engagement with the alleged lady was posted on the church’s WhatsApp group.

    In the audio leak, he described his excitement after meeting the lady and how he had a nice session before her monthly period.

    According to local media, they even made memes mocking the district superintendent over the adultery incident.

    Mukahanana, who was mortified by the situation, committed suicide on Friday because he couldn’t bear the disgrace any longer.

    Announcing the death of the cleric, the UMC Harare District, while reacting to the incident, stated, “It is with heavy heart to announce to you the untimely death of our beloved district superintendent, Rev. Oscar Mukahanana of the Harare East District.

    “The Office of the Bishop shall inform the church of developments and funeral arrangements.

    “As a church, you are cordially requested to support the Mukahanana family through your prayers.”
