Fatima Buhari, the first daughter of late former President Muhammadu Buhari, arrived at her father’s Daura residence in tears on Tuesday, ahead of his burial.
Fatima, visibly heartbroken, was consoled by close friends and family members as preparations intensified for the funeral.
Other members of the ex-president’s family also gathered at the Daura home to pay their final respects.
The former president died on Sunday, July 13, at a London clinic after a prolonged illness.
His corpse arrived Nigeria from London ahead of his burial in Daura, Katsina State, which is slated for later today.
The late president’s body landed in Katsina from the UK, accompanied by Vice President Kashim Shettima.
President Bola Tinubu, Katsina State Governor Dikko Umar Radda, key government officials, and members of the late ex-president’s family were present at the Umaru Musa Yar’Adua Airport to receive the body, which had left the UK earlier in the day.
