Conned? President Donald Trump appears to be up to something as President Muhammadu Buhari signs the visitors register

A former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode has suggested that President Muhammadu Buhari got an invite to visit the White from President Donald Trump because he he paid $490 million up front for fighter jets.

Fani-Kayode who is one of the big voices in the main opposition party, PDP believes that Nigeria got nothing from the visit of President Buhari to the US.

“The only reason @MBuhari got into the @WhiteHouse was because of the $490 million he paid up front for the jets,” he tweeted.

“He also agreed to open up Nigeria to American agric products. @realDonaldTrump got all he wanted. Why wont he smile? All we got was a warning to stop killing Christians.”

“President Trump looks forward to discussing ways to enhance our strategic partnership and advance our shared priorities,” White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders said in a statement.

The priorities include “promoting economic growth and reforms, fighting terrorism and other threats to peace and security, and building on Nigeria’s role as a democratic leader in the region”, she said.

The Presidency or ruling party, which Buhari belongs to is yet to respond to the claims.
