Numerous people are thought dead after a terrible landslide devastated Papua New Guinea’s highlands on Friday, according to local officials and relief organisations.  Around three in the morning local time, the tragedy struck Kaokalam village in the isolated Enga province of Papua New Guinea. Troops from the Nigerian Army’s anti-kidnapping operations captured three suspects during a raid on suspected kidnappers’ hideouts in Abuja’s Bwari Area Council.  The arrested accused include one kidnapper’s informant and two accomplices. According to the reports, the Bwari Area Council has suddenly become a popular destination for kidnappers. On Tuesday, at least 20 residents were kidnapped by the area council. A female student at Ebonyi State University (EBSU) has reportedly committed suicide after repeatedly failing a course.  The yet-to-be-identified student reportedly ended her life after repeatedly failing the course of Dr. Enyi, a lecturer in her department. No fewer than three people have been arrested by the Ondo State Police Command in connection with the alleged killing of a man, Adewale Olowolafe.
