A police officer attached to the Jos Metropolitan Development Board’s enforcement unit reportedly died after being shot at a popular Jos Market. The incident occurred on Wednesday morning at the Terminus Market in Jos North Local Government Area, where security officers and taskforce officials have been struggling to cleanse the area of street trader for weeks. President Bola Tinubu has appointed Shehu Mohammed as the new Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC). Mohammed, an Assistant Corps Marshal, will succeed Dauda Biu, who was appointed by former President Muhammadu Buhari in 2022. According to a statement issued on Wednesday by Segun Imohiosen, Director of Information, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mohammed’s appointment is effective May 20, 2024. The Lagos State Police Command arrested Chimereze Chinedu for allegedly defrauding a Thai national of $216,000 and N30 million, according to a statement released on X on Tuesday.  The suspect allegedly promised to supply his victim with 37 tricycles valued at $216,000. To further extort money from his victim, the suspect allegedly forged letters. He said, “Chimereze defrauded his victim under the pretence of selling 37 tricycles to her. Olaolu Akeredolu-Ale, a skilled Nigerian artist, produced the trophy for the 2024 Emirates FA Cup final, which takes place this Saturday.  The English Football Association approached the 23-year-old, also known as Slawn, and asked him to design a unique trophy for a special occasion following the BRIT Awards. Controversial social media critic Martin Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, has been remanded in police custody until his next hearing, scheduled for next Wednesday.  Otse was reportedly charged with cyberbullying involving Nollywood actresses Iyabo Ojo and Tonto Dike on Wednesday in Abuja’s Federal High Court, where he pleaded not guilty. A yet-to-be identified Chinese boss has reportedly killed his Nigerian employee Miss Ocheze Ogbonna for refusing his sexual advances. According to reports, Ocheze reportedly died after a Chinese expatriate working at the Inner Galaxy Steel Company located in Umuahala-Obuzor, Abia State, pushed her down from heavy-duty equipment (Crane) for rejecting and refusing his love advances.
