Some Nigerian professors have demanded that their pay be increased to at least N2.5m per month, claiming that anything less was no longer acceptable.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, Bauchi zone, condemned the appointment of governing boards throughout federal tertiary institutions, urging the Bola Tinubu-led administration to reinstate previously disbanded members.  The ASUU zone, which includes officials from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi State University Gadau, Federal University Kashere, Gombe State University, Plateau State University, and the University of Jos, made the announcements following a meeting in Gombe State. Tinubu appoints Shehu Muhammed new FRSC Marshal

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Shehu Mohammed as the new Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC). Mohammed, an Assistant Corps Marshal, will succeed Dauda Biu, who was appointed by former President Muhammadu Buhari in 2022. The Lagos State Police Command arrested Chimereze Chinedu for allegedly defrauding a Thai national of $216,000 and N30 million, according to a statement released on X on Tuesday.  The suspect allegedly promised to supply his victim with 37 tricycles valued at $216,000.
