Dr. Oyebanji Filani, Chairman of Nigeria’s Forum of Health Commissioners, has stated that the Federal Government has provided test kits and other materials to 22 states in response to the recent cholera outbreak in various regions of the country. This came as Lagos State reported 500 probable cholera cases and the administration rushed to contain its spread. The Nigerian Embassy, in conjunction with a Senegalese-based non-governmental organisation, has rescued 24 Nigerian girls who were subjected to sexual exploitation in the Tamaccounda and Kedougou Regions of Senegal. The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) reported that during an investigation in Edo State, its agents discovered a temple being used to store illegal drugs. The Federal High Court in Lagos has ordered the permanent seizure of properties worth approximately N11.14 billion and N1.04 billion owned by former Central Bank of Nigeria Governor Godwin Emefiele by the federal government.
