Ifunanya Miracle, a fresh graduate of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University’s Department of Quantity Surveying, died while attempting to flee a yet-to-be-identified prankster’s robbery on the school premises in Awka, Anambra State.  Ifunanya’s friend, Peace, a student in the Department of Pure and Industrial Chemistry who was also involved in the robbery, was injured to varied degrees and was brought to the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital for treatment. President Bola Tinubu has named Olatunji Bello as the new CEO and Executive Vice Chairman of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission, subject to Senate confirmation.  Ajuri Ngelale, the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, issued the statement on Monday. No fewer than eight people have died in an office building fire near Moscow, state-owned news agency Tass reports. Some staff may still be trapped inside the blazing building in Fryazino, located around 25 kilometres (15.5 miles) northeast of the capital, according to local governor Andrey Vorobyov on social media. Online video footage shows dense smoke billowing from the upper floors of the eight-story complex. Russia has blamed the United States and threatened “consequences” for a Ukrainian missile strike on Sevastopol in occupied Crimea on Sunday, which officials say killed four people, including two children.  Around 150 more people were hurt in the incident after missile debris fell on a nearby beach. Russia’s defence ministry said that Ukraine’s missiles were US-supplied ATACMS missiles that had been configured by US specialists. The family of Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, the All Progressives Congress National Chairman, is in grief following the death of his mother-in-law, Hajiya Asiya Gauyama.  Edwin Olofu, Ganduje’s Chief Press Secretary, confirmed her death in a statement made in Abuja on Monday. Former chairmen from 21 of Rivers State’s 23 local government areas protested on Monday in their respective council regions.  Former council chiefs loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, protested in their local councils despite the state Police Command’s advice against protests.
