Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has contributed N100 million to help victims of the recent flood in Maiduguri, Borno State’s capital.  Abubakar’s donation was announced in a statement issued on Sunday by his media adviser, Paul Ibe. The Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS) announced 281 prisoners missing from the Medium Security Custodial Centre in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.  The service stated that this followed an evacuation process in the aftermath of the state’s flood crisis, in which seven convicts were returned to the centre. Several trucks at the Dangote Refinery, located in the Ibeju-Lekki area of Lagos State, began lifting Premium Motor Spirit, known as petrol, on Sunday. The management of the University of Benin (UNIBEN) has disclosed that no life was lost in the building collapse that occurred in the early hours of Saturday at Ekosodin as three trapped students had been rescued.
