A former Taraba State governor, Darius Ishaku, has been arrested by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over an alleged N27bn fraud. It was reported that Ishaku, who left office in 2023 after serving as governor for eight years, was picked up at his Abuja residence in the early hours of Friday. Sources within the commission told reporters that the former governor was still in the anti-graft agency’s custody at the time of filing this report on Friday night. The Kebbi State Government has urged the Federal Government to act quickly in response to the state’s disastrous floods.  Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed-BK, the State Commissioner for Information, made the plea in Birnin Kebbi during a news conference on Friday about the enormity of the flood that wrecked havoc on people and property across the state. He explained that the flood, which killed many people, drowned 858,311 farmlands and left 329,092 homes homeless. The Lagos State Police Command has summoned four policemen to account for allegedly extorting N1 million from National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members.  Olúyẹmí Fásípè, also known as #YemieFash, shared the encounter on Twitter late Thursday. The Yobe Government has announced that a total of 132 cases of cholera were recorded in the state as of September 25, out of which nine died. Dr. Mohammed Gana, Commissioner for Health and Human Services, said this in a statement in Damaturu on Friday. He stated that the instances were reported in Gubja, Fune, Machina, Nangere, and Nguru Local Government Areas.
