A former Taraba State governor, Darius Ishaku, has been arrested by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over an alleged N27bn fraud. It was reported that Ishaku, who left office in 2023 after serving as governor for eight years, was picked up at his Abuja residence in the early hours of Friday. The Lagos State Police Command has summoned four policemen to account for allegedly extorting N1 million from National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members.  Olúyẹmí Fásípè, also known as #YemieFash, shared the encounter on Twitter late Thursday. Nigeria files four emergency requests as cholera cases surge

The Yobe Government has announced that a total of 132 cases of cholera were recorded in the state as of September 25, out of which nine died. Dr. Mohammed Gana, Commissioner for Health and Human Services, said this in a statement in Damaturu on Friday. He stated that the instances were reported in Gubja, Fune, Machina, Nangere, and Nguru Local Government Areas.
