Oil marketers want to deal directly with the Dangote Petroleum Refinery rather than buying the company’s Premium Motor Spirit, also known as petrol, from the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPC.  Dealers affiliated with the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria and the Petroleum Products Retail Outlets Owners Association of Nigeria said they had begun negotiations to assure direct purchase of petrol from the $20 billion facility rather than through NNPC. The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has called on the Federal Government to meet with the leadership of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) regarding the recent strike threat. The Anambra State Police Command announced on Wednesday that it had detained two individuals and discovered a bag of gunpowder and munitions at several locations throughout the state.  On Wednesday, the command’s spokesman, S.P. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has filed fresh charges against the wanted former governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, accusing him of N110bn fraud. The EFCC initially charged the former Kogi State governor, together with his nephew Ali Bello, Dauda Suliman, and Abdulsalam Hudu, with 19 counts of money laundering totalling N80,246,470,088.88. The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has called for an immediate investigation into the N15 million bribery allegation against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC. Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, a convicted cross-dresser, alleged that she paid EFCC officials a bribe of N15 million to have a money laundering case against her dropped. The NBA responded to Okuneye’s allegations on Wednesday with a statement signed by its President, Afam Osigwe (SAN), describing them as troubling.
