Brazil’s Supreme Court has announced that it is lifting a ban on the social media network X, formerly known as Twitter.  In his judgement, Justice Alexandre de Moraes stated that he permitted the “immediate return” of X’s activity in the country after the company paid substantial fines and banned accounts accused of disseminating misinformation. Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has established a seven-member Judicial Commission of Inquiry to probe arson, deaths, and property destruction at several Local Government Council headquarters across the state.  Nelson Chukwudi, the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, issued a statement on Tuesday. Controversial rapper Speed Darlington has been released from police detention following his arrest for allegedly slandering Burna Boy. Justice Abiola Soladoye of the Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court sentenced Benjamin Ogba, a head teacher, to life in prison for defiling two young girls, both seven years old.  The judge ruled that the prosecution proved the case beyond a reasonable doubt, with sufficient evidence of defilement to satisfy the court.
