No fewer than 20 people at a coal mine in Balochistan province in southwestern Pakistan have been killed by gunmen, according to local police. The gunmen stormed the workers’ accommodation at the Junaid Coal Company mines in the province’s Duki district in the early hours of Friday morning, rounded the men up, and opened fire. Reuters reported that a hospital in Duki had received 20 bodies and was treating six injured persons. The Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has contributed N100 million to the victims of the recent fire at Kantin Kwari Textile Market. Sanusi Tofa, the governor’s spokesman, issued this statement on Thursday. According to Tofa, the Kano sntate governor announced the donation on Thursday during a visit to the market to express his condolences to the traders. A Federal High Court in Kano sentenced a 67-year-old Lebanese, Zuhier R. Akar, to 14 years imprisonment for sexually exploiting two teenage girls. The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, Kano State Command, charged Akar of Gidan Wanka, Unity Road, Fagge Local Government Area, Kano, with two counts of trafficking and sexual exploitation. Justice M. A. The Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) National Working Committee (NWC) has suspended its National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, and the National Legal Adviser of the party, Kamaldeen Ajibade, SAN.  Since 2023, the PDP has experienced internal problems, with Ologunagba and Ajibade recently rising as major voices, pressing National Chairman Umar Damagum to follow the party’s constitution in everyday operations. A faction of the National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has suspended the acting National Chairman, Illiya Umar Damagum, and National Secretary, Samuel Anyanwu, for alleged disloyalty to the party. Earlier, a section of the NWC affiliated with Damagum announced the suspension of Kamaldeen Ajibade, the National Legal Adviser, and Debo Ologunagba, the National Publicity Secretary, for alleged party treachery. Hurricane Milton wreaked havoc on Florida, killing at least four individuals, one of whom was in a mobile home neighbourhood.  Officials from St Lucie County, on the east coast, claimed the deaths were caused by at least two tornadoes that struck the area before Milton arrived late Wednesday. According to Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, more than three million homes and businesses in the state have lost power as a result of the hurricane, and buildings such as a prominent baseball stadium have been destroyed. The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) on Thursday challenged former militant leader Asari Dokubo to come to the battlefield and witness the capabilities of the military. British rapper and online sensation Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, popularly called Yung Filly, has been charged with rape in Australia.  Filly is most known for his work with the YouTube collective Beta Squad and for hosting shows on BBC Three. He was arrested in Brisbane on Tuesday and extradited to Perth the next day for a court appearance. Barrientos, 29, was charged on Thursday and had his bail application granted.
