The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) arrested Oguejiofor Simonpeter, a Thailand returnee, at Lagos’ Murtala Muhammed International Airport on October 7, 2024, for attempting to smuggle 13.30 kg of heroin worth over N3.192bn.  The drug was concealed in six backpacks and packed into two suitcases. The agency’s spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, confirmed the arrest. A train crushed and killed a 50-year-old man simply identified as Emmanuel on Saturday in Lagos State.  Chronicle NG gathered that the incident occurred in near the Arena Shopping Mall in Oshodi. The Delta State Police Command has arrested a man in his twenties for reportedly stabbing a female following a sex session in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area, Delta State.  According to reports, the guy simply named Mr. Daniel stabbed the sex worker in a brothel, Apple Inn, on Friday night along the ever-busy Benin/Asaba Motorway, following an incident over his failure to pay the agreed-upon cost. Adeyinka Adeleke, a councillorship candidate in Ogun State’s Abeokuta South Local Government Area, was assassinated by suspected gunmen on Saturday afternoon in the Jide Jones area.  The victim was alleged to be the All Progressives Congress Councillorship candidate for Abeokuta South Local Government Ward 15 in the upcoming November 16 Local Government elections. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Saturday declared Bolaji Akinduro, Executive Chairman of Total Grace Oil and Gas Investment Limited, wanted for alleged fraud. No fewer than four youths have been killed in Plateau State following an attack by gunmen in Bokkos Local Government Areas of the state on Friday night. It was discovered that the victims were working at a mining site in the Batura community when gunmen assaulted them at 9 p.m., killing four people on the spot. The Ogun State Police Command arrested 41-year-old Ibrahim Aliu in Papa Olosun, Oja Odan, in the state’s Yewa North Local Government Area, for allegedly defiling his 12-year-old daughter (name withheld).  Aliu was arrested on Thursday after his estranged wife, Temitope Egbebi, filed a complaint against him with the Oja Odan Divisional Police Office. Egbebi said that Aliu had criminal knowledge of the victim whenever she visited him over the vacations. The South African Police Service has detained four officers for robbing a Nigerian rapper of R20 million (about N1.9 billion).  Jacobus Groenewald, Bradley Minnaar, Mthuthuzeli Mafanya, and Bathandwa Soldati allegedly broke into the Nigerian national’s home in Llandudno, Cape Town, on September 14 and took his jewellery.
