Suspected herdsmen on Monday, killed a vigilante operative and another man in the Umunjo community in Irete, Owerri West Local Government Area of Imo State. Terrorists carried out separate attacks on towns in Plateau State’s Jos South, Mangu, and Riyom Local Government Areas, killing 13 people on Sunday night. Nine passengers were killed when suspected terrorists opened fire on their vehicle in the Dungus hamlet of Jos South Local Government Area on their way to Jos. The remaining four victims were slain in separate incidents in Mangu and Riyom local government regions. Five Nigerians living in South Africa who were extradited to the United States on September 11 for alleged wire fraud and money laundering could face up to 100 years in prison if convicted on the conspiracy charges.
