The Lagos State Government has announced that the Eko Bridge leading towards the section of the newly reopened Apongbon Bridge will close for 24 hours on Sunday, July 16, 2023. The closure is for immediate remedial palliative works by the Lagos State Public Works Department in conjunction with the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing, according to the state government. The Anambra State Government announced the rescue of a 19-year-old girl who was reportedly gang raped by six youths in the state’s Anam, Anambra West Local Government Area. The Federal Government has charged suspended Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor Godwin Emefiele with illegal possession of firearms and ammunition before the Federal High Court in Lagos. A community in Delta State has imposed 40 strokes of cane as punishment for indecent dressing in the locality.
