Adeleke, PDP protest as APC demands emergency rule in Osun

Senator Ademola Adeleke, the Governor of Osun State, has placed a curfew on two communities, Ilobu and Ifon, following a communal confrontation over a land issue. The curfew notification issued by the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Hon. Kolapo Alimi, is intended to maintain peace and order in the area. Adeleke further ordered that the curfew be implemented immediately in the two affected local governments, Orolu and Irepodun. The curfew will be in effect from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. every night. No fewer than 20 employees of mining giant De Beers have been killed in a road crash in South Africa, local officials said Sunday.
