Dr. Mohammed Nasir Mahmoud, Director General of the Kano State Primary Healthcare Management Board, announced on Tuesday that 520 children in the state were suspected to have died from a diphtheria outbreak in the state.  Dr. Mahmoud made the announcement during a media dialogue in Kano organised by the United Nations Children’s Fund, UNICEF, for journalists from the North-West states. The executive governor of Ogun State, Gov. Dapo Abiodun, stated on Tuesday that his administration would implement a law that would pronounce the death penalty on anyone caught engaging in cult activities in the state. Peter Obi, the candidate of the Labour Party in the recently past presidential election, has filed 51 grounds of appeal before the Supreme Court to invalidate the election of President Bola Tinubu. Renowned Nigerian lawyer and human rights activist, Femi Falana (SAN), has requested a coroner inquest into the death of Nigerian singer, Ilerioluwa Ayoba, popularly called MohBad. The request was made in a letter addressed to the Chief Coroner, High Court of Lagos State, on Monday. Gunmen have reportedly killed eight security personnel, including soldiers, police officers, and members of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps. The gunmen carried out the tragedy on Tuesday morning in Umualumaku village, Ehime Mbano Local Government locals, has caused concern among the locals.
