Plateau: Troops rescue eight kidnap victims in Qua'an Pan forest

Troops of the Joint Security Task Force acting in the Alkaleri Local Government Area of Bauchi State freed 33 people who had been kidnapped. They were kidnapped a few days ago by gunmen who took them into the wilderness and held them hostage until their family paid a ransom. A truck carrying a container that collapsed in the early hours of Friday at Odumodu Junction Nteje, Oyi Local Government Area, along Awka Road, Anambra State, led to the deaths of five women and injured four others.
