Sen. Shehu Sani has called for the closure of all primary and secondary schools in the North-West.  Sani, in a statement on his X account on Saturday, noted that all academic and non-academic activities in schools in the North West should be halted in a bid to “enable security agencies” to beef up security operations in the region. “I suggest that primary and secondary schools located in rural areas in the North West take a break for two weeks to enable security agencies to reset their operations to properly protect the schools,” Sani stated. The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has urged the government to establish a new minimum wage that is in line with the country’s cost of living.
