The Police Service Commission (PSC) has formed a committee to examine a story published by an online medium alleging that police officers pay up to $10,000 in bribes to advance in their careers. On Thursday, a Chief Magistrates’ Court in Makurdi ruled that 59-year-old Kelvin Iorfa be held in a detention facility for legal counsel. Iorfa was accused with assault and attempted culpable murder. A building collapse in the northern Lebanese city of Tripoli killed 14 people, the civil defense head confirmed Monday, after search and rescue operations stopped the day before.

A seven-story building under construction in Lagos State’s Banana Island, Ikoyi district, has fallen. The event occurred at 3 p.m. on Wednesday.
