The Lagos Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on May 31, 2022, secured the conviction and sentencing of one Nuhu Zakari, who was arraigned on a one-count amended charge bordering on money laundering and internet fraud before Justice Sherifat Solebo of the Special Offences Court in Ikeja, Lagos. A civil servant, Suleiman Farouq, was on Tuesday arraigned in a Kaduna Chief Magistrates’ Court, for defrauding 15 job seekers of N3.2million. Farouq, who resides in Tudun Wada in Kaduna, is charged with fraud. Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, Insp Chidi Leo told the court that the matter was reported at the State Criminal and Investigative Department via a letter of complaint on March 20. The Kaduna State Tuberculosis, Leprosy and Buruli Ulcer Programme on Tuesday has recorded 4,506 TB cases in the state. The State Programme Manager, Dr Sadiq Idris, made this known to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kaduna. “This represents a 114 per cent increase when compared to Q1 of 2021 TB case findings,” he said.
