The Amalgamated Arewa Youth Groups on Monday stormed the headquarters of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited, to demand the cancellation of a multi-million dollar pipeline contract awarded to former militant leader, Government Ekpemupolo known as Tompolo. Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau state has called for stiffer action against illegal mining in the north and other parts of Nigeria. The Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC) has lauded the National Economic Council (NEC) for endorsing the $750million World Bank-backed State Action on Business Enabling Reforms (SABER) programme.
