Governor Simon Lalong has approved the payment of fifteen year backlog of licenses owed by the Plateau Radio and Television (PRTV) to the Nigerian Broadcasting Commission (NBC). The state-owned TV and radio stations owed the NBC N114,500,000.00 over the last 15 years. Lalong’s action comes after the broadcasting regulatory body vowed to revoke the licenses of Plateau Radio and Television (PRTV). Somali forces have ended a siege at a hotel in Mogadishu, police and the military said on Sunday, rescuing 106 hostages including women and children.
