Russia has opened a criminal investigation after gunmen shot dead 11 people at a military training ground near the Ukrainian border, authorities said on Sunday, as fighting raged in eastern and southern Ukraine. Russia’s RIA news agency, citing the defence ministry, said two gunmen had opened fire during a firearms training exercise on Saturday, targeting a group who had volunteered to fight in Ukraine. The Lagos State Taskforce carried out an intense raid of blackspots at Oshodi, Mafoluku, and, Airport Road where it has been reported that criminal elements use them as a hideout after carrying out their nefarious activities. Chief Executive Officer, Air Peace, Mr. Allen Onyema, has expressed the company’s readiness to operate direct flights to Israel. Stanley Olisa, the media executive, Air Peace said in a statement in Lagos on Saturday that Onyema said this during a courtesy visit to the Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission(NCPC), boss in Abuja. The Lagos State Police Command said that four murder cases were reported and recorded in the state in the last seven days. The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Lagos, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident to journalists on Saturday. Hundeyin said that four persons were arrested in connection with the cases.
