Harry Kane became Tottenham Hotspur’s all-time record scorer with his 267th goal for the club arriving in the Premier League home win against Manchester City on Sunday. Kane struck in the 15th minute to give his side the lead and his feat was warmly celebrated by the Spurs fans in the stadium. Residents of the Federal Capital Territory have continued to face difficulty in accessing the new naira notes, attributing the challenge to bank officials, who they say are hoarding and selling the new notes. The stakeholders urged the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to impose heavy sanctions on Deposit Money Banks (DMBs) found complicit in fuelling the naira scarcity, as well as other abusers of the currency. Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has filed a lawsuit against the Senate President, Dr. Ahmad Lawan and Speaker of House of Representatives, Mr. Femi Gbajabiamila over their “failure to cut the unlawful National Assembly budget of N228.1bn, including the N30.17bn severance payments and inauguration costs for members.” The suit followed the move by the National Assembly to increase its 2023 budget from N169bn proposed by President Muhammadu Buhari to N228.1bn.
