At least four people were killed and 28 wounded in a shooting that erupted during a late-night “Sweet 16” birthday celebration at a dance studio in the small town of Dadeville, Alabama, state police and local news media said on Sunday. The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Dr Nasiru Idris, has been proclaimed the winner of the Kebbi State governorship eNasilection by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Professor Sa’idu Yusuf, the state’s returning officer, claimed the APC candidate won the election by polling 409,225 votes to his challenger, Aminu Bande of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who polled 360,940 votes. Senator Dino Melaye has emerged as the Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate in Kogi state after primaries on Sunday. Melaye, a spokesperson to Atiku Abubakar, the PDP presidential candidate in the 2023 presidential election defeated nine aspirants to emerge the party’s flagbearer. Melaye garnered 313 votes to win the primaries. Ilonah Idoko Kingsley polled 124 while Usman Muhammed Kebiru got 121 votes. Other candidates are Yomi Awoniyi (77),  Engr. A Lagos Federal High Court has sentenced a 31-year-old bricklayer, Rasheed Bolaji, to two years imprisonment, for selling Cannabis Sativa, in the Ikoyi custodial center of the Nigerian Correctional Services (NCoS). Justice Abimbola Awogboro, sentenced the bricklayer to the jail-term, after convicting him of two counts charge trafficking and unlawful dealing in 5. 3 kilograms of Indian hemp, leveled against him by the anti-narcotic agency, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA). Lazio forward Ciro Immobile is under observation in hospital after he fractured his rib and hurt his back in a car crash in Rome, the Serie A club said on Sunday. The Independent National Electoral Commission has annulled the declaration of Aisha Dahiru Ahmed as the governor-elect of Adamawa state. The electoral body said that the action of Resident Electoral Officer, Prof Hudu Yunus Ari, in Yola, Adamawa state is “a usurpation of power”. Ari on Saturday night announced an adjournment of the collation of results to 11am but he then returned to the collation centre at 9am to announce Binani, the All Progressives Congress candidate as the governor-elect. Aisha Dahiru Ahmed, popularly referred to as Binani, has been declared winner of the Adamawa Governorship election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Prof Hudu Yunus Ari, Adamawa’s Resident Electoral Commissioner, pronounced Binani the winner midway through the counting. Binani, a senator and member of the All Progressives Congress is the first elected female governor in Nigeria’s history.
