Men of the Ondo State Security Network Agency, code-named Amotekun Corps, have raided a suspected robbers hideout in Akure, the state capital. Several stolen items were seized during the operation, and five individuals, including a couple, were apprehended. At around noon on Friday, the Amotekun corps tracked the suspects down to their home on Cannaanland Street in the Ijoka section of the city. Burkina Faso’s government on said Friday that it had signed an agreement with Russia for the construction of a nuclear power plant to “cover the energy needs of the population,” less than a quarter of which has access to electricity. Israel shelled a border region in southern Lebanon on Friday, two Lebanese security sources said, after a blast occurred on the border fence, according to the Israeli army. One of the security sources said the shelling followed an infiltration attempt from the Lebanese side of the border, while the IDF said it was responding to a blast that caused “light damage” to the border barrier. “IDF (army) forces are currently responding with artillery fire towards Lebanese territory,” the military said in a statement. Brink’s International has sued Air Canada over gold bars and cash worth millions that were stolen from Toronto’s airport in April. The US-based security company alleges the airline was “reckless” and had failed to prevent the theft.
