Troops from Operation Enduring Peace III rescued seven abducted victims in Ogumula village in Benue State’s Ohimini Local Government Area. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken called Saturday on China, a partner of Iran, to use its influence to push for calm in the Middle East. Six kidnapped victims have been rescued by Nigerian Army troops from the One Mechanised Division during a clearance operation in the Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State. The Rivers State Police Command detained and paraded a woman for disfiguring her husband’s body with boiling oil. Saudi Arabia has suspended talks on potentially normalising ties with Israel, a source told AFP on Saturday, amid the war raging between Israel and the Palestinian militant group Hamas. The Oyo State Government has urged waste contractors to be duly registered with the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, as every unauthorized consultant would be fished out and sanctioned according to Oyo State Environmental laws. The Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Arc. Abdulmojeed Mogbonjubola, revealed this during a meeting with the waste consultants in Ibadan. Men of the Ondo State Security Network Agency, code-named Amotekun Corps, have raided a suspected robbers hideout in Akure, the state capital. Several stolen items were seized during the operation, and five individuals, including a couple, were apprehended. At around noon on Friday, the Amotekun corps tracked the suspects down to their home on Cannaanland Street in the Ijoka section of the city.
