The secretary for education of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), Danlami Hayyo, says N7 billion has been approved to offset 25 per cent of the outstanding arrears of salaries of teachers in public primary schools. Mr. Hayyo said this during a familiarisation visit to the management of the FCT Universal Basic Education Board on Thursday in Abuja. The Kano State High Court on Thursday in Kano sentenced five vigilante members to death by hanging for stabbing one Ahmed Musa,17, to death. The Lagos State Taskforce on Thursday continued its bombardment against unruly motorcycle ‘Okada’ riders who are operating on highways and restricted routes after several warnings regarding their operations. The extensive exercise which took place along Oshodi-Apapa Expressway was led by the chairman of the agency, CSP Shola Jejeloye who disclosed that these raids became necessary after warnings to okada operators fell on deaf ears.
